A Message from Dean Schupbach
Dear Westphal Class of 2023,
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from Drexel’s Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design! During your time here, you’ve proven to be adept and innovative thinkers, makers, and leaders. You have impressed us with your creativity, your curiosity, your collaborative spirit, and your courage. On behalf of the entire Westphal community — the faculty and professional staff who have supported you, the classmates who shared your experiences, and our network of alumni around the world — we are so proud of you!
I am thrilled to announce that the keynote speaker for the Westphal ceremony will be Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD and Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). With her historic appointment, Dr. Jackson is the first African American and Mexican American woman to serve as chair of the NEA. For more than 25 years, Dr. Jackson’s work has focused on understanding and elevating arts, culture, and design as critical elements of healthy communities.
I can’t wait to personally greet you onstage at your Commencement ceremony this June. Congratulations again!
Sincerely,
Jason Schupbach
