CEREMONY TYPES

What is the difference between the University-wide and the College and School specific ceremonies?

The University-wide Ceremony is where degrees are formally conferred (awarded) by President Fry. The College and School specific ceremonies are where students receive individual recognition and process across stage. Both ceremony types are monumental occasions and graduates are strongly encouraged to attend both.

What if I'm a religiously observant student with a ceremony that falls during a religious holiday this year?

This year, Drexel University is offering the option of an Interdisciplinary Ceremony on Monday, June 10 at 11am ET in Mandell Theater for students whose college & school ceremonies conflict with various religious holidays or observances. Notably, Shavout and Shabbat for our observant Jewish students and Hajj for our observant Islamic students fall during scheduled commencement ceremonies from June 13-15, 2024.

As part of the Commencement RSVP on DrexelOne, students must select "Yes" to the question "Based on the date of my school/college ceremony, I require religious accommodations to participate in commencement" in order to RSVP for the June 10 interdisciplinary ceremony. More details about the ceremony will be available in April.

Can I request additional tickets?

Yes, additional tickets can be requested as part of the Commencement RSVP. Additional tickets are not guaranteed but are typically able to be accommodated. Certain Colleges and Schools with larger graduating student populations can reach venue capacity limits and additional ticket requests may not be granted.

When will I find out if my additional ticket requests can be accommodated?

Students who request additional tickets will learn how many tickets have been granted on May 15 at the earliest, when graduates pick up their ticket envelopes at the Graduation Fair. Ticket counts are outlined in an insert as part of ticket envelopes.
