Climate, COVID-19, and Drexel Dining

For this event, participating teams were challenged to re-think the way Urban Eatery, one of Drexel’s on-campus dining facilities, could be reconceptualized to reduce the use of single-use plastics while optimizing COVID-19 safety for both employees and students. Interdisciplinary Case Competition Final

"Climate, COVID-19, & Drexel Dining" is a case competition in which interdisciplinary teams of Drexel undergraduate students propose answers to the following question:

As the climate emergency accelerates, we now find ourselves grappling with Covid-19 safety measures that have suddenly increased our reliance on single-use plastics – a major driver of fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. In Drexel’s dining services, how can we support the need for student safety while minimizing the use of plastics?

This is the competition final, where four teams of students present their solutions to a panel of judges, and winners are announced.
