Body Movin' at Body Combat

October 30, 2018

This week on “My Rec Life”, Cody, Robbie, and Nate tried out Drexel’s Body Combat group exercise class. BODYCOMBAT is the empowering cardio workout where you are able totally unleash your inner dragon! This fierce program is inspired by mixed martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such a karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai-chi, and muay thai. Here’s how it went!

Nate here! Cody and Robbie and I have never done a class like this before but that being said, Body Combat has always been on my list, so I was very excited to try it. Our instructor, Ian, was great! He was energetic and encouraging the entire time, but went at a pace that even the newer participants (i.e. me) could keep up. Even when I felt like I couldn’t keep going, being surrounded by everyone else working hard motivated me to keep going.

Robbie here! My first time doing Body Combat was a success! It was a little intimidating at first walking into the class, but our instructor Ian made us feel very welcomed and made jumping in for my first time easy. That being said, the class was an hour long and very dynamic. There were definitely points where I was like “oh no what have I signed myself up for”. But attending with Nate and Cody, and along with the other people in the class, you actually feel more motivated to continue to push yourself and get through the set. I would recommend this class to anyone who is interested in working out, but feels that they lack self motivation. All you have to do is get yourself to the class on time, and everything will take care of itself!
