Available Data

The Philadelphia FSRDC enables Drexel researchers to work with numerous restricted-access datasets in the federal statistical system. The datasets constitute the source behind many of the public access data products published by the different statistical agencies. The restricted access versions of the datasets are superior to the public access products because they provide much more detail; e.g:

  • Linkages of individuals and firms over time as well as between workers and firms
  • Linkages between different restricted access datasets as well as external datasets
  • Finer levels of socio-economic, geographic and industry identifiers
  • Populations as opposed to samples
  • Virtually no top or bottom-coding

This detail of information is necessary to address many questions that are at the frontier of research in economics, public health, demography, sociology, medicine, criminology, and many other disciplines.

The number of restricted-access datasets that are available through FSRDCs is growing rapidly. For an updated list, please consult the different menus below.
