Calendar Transition Updates and Student Communications
This message was shared with faculty and staff.
Dear Colleagues,
I’m pleased to share important updates on the transition from quarters to semesters, along with copies of recent student communications for your reference.
Key Calendar Updates
AY 2026–2027 Quarter Calendar
The Academic Year (AY) 2026-2027 calendar is now available on the Provost’s Office website. Please note that the Summer 2027 quarter will be shortened as a one-time transition term between the quarter and semester calendars. Our goal is to maintain the same number of instructional contact hours during this shortened term, which will be seven weeks instead of 10.
Summer 2026-2027 Transition Planning
A task force is actively planning for the Summer 2026-2027 transition from quarters to semesters and its impacts on the experiences of students, faculty, professional staff, partners and other stakeholders. We will share more details and guidance as this work progresses.
AY 2027–2028 Semester Calendar
The dates for the new semester calendar were previously shared and have also been posted on the Provost’s Office website.
Student Communications
Undergraduate, graduate and professional degree students received messages last week introducing the AY 2027–2028 semester calendar and its key features, along with a timeline for next steps in the transition. Copies of these messages are linked below for your reference:
- View Undergraduate Student Calendar Communication
- View Graduate and Professional Degree Student Calendar Communication
We will continue to share future student communications with faculty and professional staff to keep you informed and prepared to address questions that may arise.
New Webpages for Students
Additional resources have been created for current and prospective students to provide audience-specific information. You can view information for current students on the Provost’s Office website and information for prospective students on the main Drexel.edu site.
