As Vice Provost for Academic Strategy & Communications, Amy Weaver leads university initiatives that align strategy, governance, implementation and communications in support of Drexel University's long-term vision. She serves as a senior advisor to the Provost and works across academic and administrative units to advance institutional priorities, guide complex change initiatives, and strengthen student success.

Biography

Amy Weaver has held leadership roles spanning strategy, communications, marketing, enrollment, and organizational transformation. She specializes in translating institutional priorities into action and leading complex, cross-functional efforts that advance academic excellence and student success.

Weaver joined Drexel in 2007 as the College of Arts and Sciences' inaugural communications and marketing professional. Over the following decade, she established and led the College's communications and marketing function and later assumed responsibility for enrollment and recruitment strategy, creating integrated initiatives that supported the College's growth and strategic priorities. She also launched an award-winning alumni magazine, serving as its creative director and editor.

In 2019, she joined the LeBow College of Business as Executive Director for Communications and Marketing. The following year, she was appointed Interim Vice Provost for Communications and Marketing and, in 2021, was named Vice Provost for Strategic Communications and Marketing.

Today, Weaver's portfolio includes academic strategy, governance, institutional planning, and organizational transformation. She serves as the transformation project lead for Drexel's Academic Transformation initiative, overseeing the planning, coordination, and implementation of university-wide efforts designed to strengthen student success, increase academic flexibility, enhance experiential learning, and support the University's long-term sustainability and growth. Her work includes leadership of Drexel's transition from a quarter-based to a semester-based academic calendar, one of the most significant academic change initiatives in the University's history.

Weaver works closely with academic and administrative leaders across the University to align strategy, operations, communications, and stakeholder engagement in support of Drexel's institutional goals.
