American Campus Communities Extends Winter Term Rent Abatement to Second-Year Students
In partnership with Drexel University, affiliated housing partnerAmerican Campus Communities (ACC) has agreed to extend rent abatement to second-year Drexel students governed by the University’s on-campus housing requirement through March 20, 2021 with the lease remaining in effect.
ACC provides housing for a number of Drexel students, including second-year students who choose to live in ACC properties as part of the University’s two-year residency requirement. ACC operates three residencies on Drexel’s campus: Chestnut Square, University Crossings, and The Summit at University City.
This rent abatement offer has not been extended to upperclassmen (pre-junior, junior, seniors, graduate students) who are not required to live on campus, and who have a current lease with ACC for the 2020–2021 academic year.
ACC communities will remain open through the winter term and will continue to provide essential services to residents. Students with current leases are also welcome to move in for winter term through Jan. 18. ACC can work with students to schedule and coordinate a physically distanced move-in.
The University will continue to update students and families throughout the term via its Response to Coronavirus website.
