José Tapia Granados, PhD, a professor in College of Arts and Sciences, was quoted in a Jan. 8 NBC News article about the relationship between economic expansion and carbon emissions. A 2012 study co-authored by Tapia Granados found that, from 1958 through 2010, CO2 emissions were closely linked to increased economic activity. The study was referenced in the article.
