Commentary: From Prison, a Reminder of the Value of Great Literature

Paula Marantz Cohen, PhD, dean of the Pennoni Honors College and Distinguished Professor of English in the College of Arts and Sciences, wrote a piece in the Philadelphia Inquirer June 24 discussing the importance of literature in education. Cohen's piece used the example of a Pennsylvania prison inmate who participated in a literature correspondence course she taught.
