U.S. Textile Industry Turns to Tech as Gateway to Revival

Genevieve Dion, an associate professor in Westphal College of Media Arts & Design and director of the Shima Seiki Haute Technology Lab in the ExCITe Center, was quoted in an April 1 New York Times story about the Department of Defense creating a national network of research centers for advanced functional fabrics manufacturing. One of the centers will be at Drexel. Aleister Saunders, PhD, senior vice provost for research, was also quoted in a related story in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
