Researchers discover new dinosaur species

National and international media continued to report on Sept. 5 through Sept. 7 on the discovery of the new supermassive dinosaur species, Dreadnoughtus schrani, by a team led by Kenneth Lacovara, PhD, an associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences. Highlights of the weekend media coverage included a “What’s the Big Idea” segment on MSNBC Live, an in-depth feature story on WHYY-FM’s “The Pulse” that was also syndicated nationally on NPR/WBUR-FM’s “Here and Now,” a segment on NPR’s “Science Friday,” a profile article about Lacovara in The Philadelphia Inquirer, a mention in a New York Times opinion article about major world news, a Guardian essay about why people love large dinosaurs, a mention as one of the “hits of the week” on The Wall Street Journal’s “Journal Editorial Report” televised on FOX News.
