The moment the Class of 2025 has been waiting for is almost here — Drexel University’s commencement celebrations will take place from June 11–13.

You’ve probably got a million things on your mind as you inch closer to becoming #ForeverDragons, but hopefully this list can help you plan for the big celebration and all the moments that accompany it. For more detailed information, look at Drexel’s Commencement website and check your email for the particulars.

If you want a treat leading up to Commencement, check out the Class of 2025 drink (as voted by students earlier in the year) at the Pret a Manger on the University City Campus. The Pret x Class of 2025 Dubai Chocolate Latte is made with pistachio and chocolate syrups and served hot or iced.

When is the University-wide ceremony?

The Class of 2025 and their guests will gather at Citizens Bank Park on Thursday, June 12, for a ceremony that starts at 5 p.m. Alumnus, Olympian and investment banker Justin Best ’19 will deliver the Commencement keynote address — you probably recognize him from his gold medal race in the men’s four in rowing at 2024’s Olympic Games.

What other events should I attend?

Beyond your college or school’s ceremony and the University-wide ceremony, mark your calendar for the President’s Toast at 4 p.m. on June 9 in Main Building. Graduating Dragons gather with the community and Interim President Denis O’Brien to toast to the class of 2025. It’s a warm welcome into the Drexel alumni community.

If you’re a Pennoni Honors Program student, make sure to attend the Honors Medallion Ceremony, held at 3:30 p.m. on June 11 at the Miller Theater. Tickets are required and take note — the dress code is business casual, so don’t wear your robes.

Doctoral candidates can also attend the Doctoral Celebration at 5 p.m. on June 10 in Main Building. Eligible candidates will receive an invitation to RSVP by June 3.

How can my loved ones watch/see/attend Commencement?

You should’ve already picked up your allotted tickets at the Graduation Fair, but if you missed the fair, you have until June 6 to email commencement@drexel.edu and pick up your allotted tickets. Graduates get four for their college or school ceremony and seven total for the University-wide ceremony, though one of those seven is for the graduate themselves.

If your family or friends can’t be in attendance, they can watch a livestream of the ceremonies (college, school and University-wide on the Commencement website. College and school ceremonies will be livestreamed on their individual pages on the Commencement website.

What do I need to know for Commencement?

First of all, don’t forget your regalia, including your robe, mortarboard and any cords or stoles you may have. Next, make sure you arrive in time; generally, you’ll want to arrive an hour before your college or school ceremony and at least 90 minutes before the University-wide ceremony. Take note of where to report as it’s different for every venue, and different for graduates and guests.

When arriving at the ceremonies, take note of banned items, which include selfie sticks, food and drinks, balloons, posters or other large signs, noisemakers, drones, umbrellas or tents, laser pointers and more. Additionally, for the University-wide ceremony, guests are only permitted to bring diaper bags, medical bags, clear bags smaller than 12”x6”x12” or clutch bags or fanny packs smaller than 5”x7”.

Who do I go to if I have questions?

Hopefully, your question can be answered by the Commencement website or its FAQ page, but if you’re still searching for answers, you can email commencement@drexel.edu. For more specific questions, check the Commencement website’s extensive list of contacts.
