CEREMONY TYPES
The University-wide Ceremony is where degrees are formally conferred (awarded) by President Fry. The College- and School-specific ceremonies are where students receive individual recognition and process across stage. Both ceremony types are monumental occasions and graduates are strongly encouraged to attend both.
TICKETS
Graduates are guaranteed 4 tickets for guests to attend their College and School ceremony. Graduates are guaranteed 6 tickets for guests to attend the University-wide Ceremony.
First opportunity to pick up tickets is at the Graduation Fair on May 15 in the Recreation Center Lobby.
Yes, additional tickets can be requested as part of the Commencement RSVP. Additional tickets are not guaranteed but are typically able to be accommodated. Certain Colleges and Schools with larger graduating student populations can reach venue capacity limits and additional ticket requests may not be granted.
Students who request additional tickets will learn how many tickets have been granted on May 15 at the earliest, when graduates pick up their ticket envelopes at the Graduation Fair. Ticket counts are outlined in an insert as part of ticket envelopes.
Children who can sit on laps without obstructing view from other guests are permitted to do so. Generally, children over the age of 2 require a seat and therefore a ticket.
REGALIA
Regalia is the cap and gown dress required for graduates to participate in commencement ceremonies. All Drexel regalia is custom blue and gold, with more custom options for doctoral graduates. Students without the appropriate regalia will not be permitted to process at ceremonies.
