Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey Fabiana Pierre-Louis Will Address Kline School of Law Graduates at Commencement

The Honorable Fabiana Pierre-Louis, Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey, will address 2023 graduates of the Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law at commencement on Wednesday, May 17, at the Kimmel Cultural Campus (300 S. Broad Street).
At 10 a.m. the law school will celebrate the class of 2023, which includes 238 graduates. The ceremony will celebrate 154 graduates who will receive a JD, including one being awarded posthumously, 58 who will receive a Master of Legal Studies and 26 who will receive a Master of Laws.
Justice Pierre-Louis was nominated by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy in June 2020 and was sworn in as an associate justice in Sept. 2020. She is the first Black woman to serve on the Supreme Court of New Jersey and is the daughter of Haitian immigrants.
“Justice Pierre-Louis is a path-breaking jurist. We are excited for her to share her perspectives and experiences with our new graduates,” said Daniel M. Filler, JD, dean and professor of law.
Justice Pierre-Louis began her legal career as a law clerk to New Jersey Supreme Court Associate Justice John E. Wallace Jr., whose seat she now occupies.
During the ceremony, students will also hear remarks from Filler, and Drexel President John Fry.
