Bulk Trash Pickup Returns for Summer Moveout
Dragons are good neighbors — do your part to keep the Mantua, Powelton Village and West Powelton neighborhoods near Drexel University clean as you move out this summer.
Drexel Business Services and the Enterprise Center will manage pickup and disposal of bulk trash again at the end of the summer quarter, as they did earlier this year and in various ways in years past.
From Aug. 21–Sept. 1, haulers will pick up bulk trash including mattresses, box springs and sofas twice a day in the area between 32nd and 41 streets and Mantua Avenue to Market Street. Just leave your bulkiest items by the curb between 6 a.m. and noon — but make sure to take care of the rest of your refuse before you leave for good. Don’t leave items next to full dumpsters, as they are monitored daily and replaced when they reach capacity.
While the bulk trash pickup has been around for several years, Drexel Business Services expanded the area served during the post-spring quarter pickup, said Associate Vice President of Business Services Don Liberati, and added more containers because of it. The program was well received, and haulers were stopped and thanked by residents who hoped the program would return.
Now that it has, it’s here to make your move-out life easier. Make sure to make your neighbors’ lives easier too by disposing of other trash and recyclables properly, maintaining your home’s appearance and respecting on-street parking rules.
