Art That Gives Back: How Photos from Alumnus Exhibition Benefit Drexel Students
Earlier this year, The Drexel Collection exhibited A Photographic Voyage, which showcased the photography of Drexel University trustee and alumnus R. John Chapel, Jr. ’67.
The photos in the exhibit were available for purchase, with all funds going towards the John and Virginia Chapel ACHIEVE Center and Resources Suite Endowed Fund to enhance the student athletic experience at Drexel.
The pictures displayed show everything that Chapel was inspired to take photos of during his travels near and far — as you can see, this means everything from a merry-go-round in France to the architecture in Russia to the animals and sky near his home base on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.

Note: the black and white photographs are framed and glazed and measure 21.25 inches x 25.25 inches. “St. Petersburg, Russia, 2016” and “Aix-en-Provence, France, 2017” are very large and printed on foam core. “Leesburg, Virginia, 2018,” “Santorini, Greece, 2015” and “Como, Italy, 2010” are printed on sintra and unframed.
