Spring term is eminent, and with it will come warm-weather activities on campus, the countdown to commencement and some important monthly reminders. Here’s what’s going on and what to be aware of this month:

From the USGA and Drexel Green

Save the date for Drexel’s annual EarthFest – The University will celebrate Earth Day and its commitment to environmental sustainability with the annual EarthFest event on April 23 from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. on Lancaster Walk.

This block party-style celebration will have food, fun, games and giveaways and will showcase University stakeholders, local businesses and organizations with “green” initiatives. The event is free and open to the entire Drexel community. Rain date is April 24.

Drexel Business Services

Drexel Campus Dining – Another reminder! Dining dollars rollover from winter term to spring term when a student is enrolled in a dining plan in both terms. For more information, or to enroll in a spring term dining plan, contact Drexel Campus Dining at campusdining@drexel.edu or call 215.895.6095.

Additionally,Drexel Campus Dining will extend hours at the Urban Eatery (3400 Lancaster Ave.) during finals week  from March 18-20 to provide an additional place to study. Drexel students are welcome to enjoy complimentary coffee and hot tea, courtesy of Drexel Business Services. Students with dining plans will have an additional meal swipe added to their DragonCard to use each night for special late-night menu options.

Parking Services – Ending this week! Winter 2019 Parking Permits and are available for spring 2019 renewal now through March 24, when they expire. New spring 2019 (quarter) parking permits will be available for purchase on March 25 via ParkDrexel located in DrexelOne on the “Campus + Community” tab.   For rates or parking location information, visit the Parking Services website.

DragonCard – The DragonCard office will host a DragonDollars Merchant Fair on April 17 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Creese Student Center. Local businesses will provide samples, information, giveaways, raffles and more. The fair is free and open to the Drexel community.

Public Safety

R.A.D. Self-Defense courses – Drexel Public Safety hosts free R.A.D. Self-Defense Courses for Drexel students, employees, and the immediate community, teaching the basics of hands-on defense training taught by certified R.A.D. instructors. The next R.A.D. for Women course series is held as a four-date Monday/Wednesday series on April 8, 10, 15 and 17, or as a one-day class on April 27.

Registrants must attend all four weekday evening classes or the Saturday all-day class to complete the program in full. For additional information, please visit Public Safety’s website or contact Karen Sams at 215.895.1609. To register, complete the form on the website.

Student Life

Family Weekend Dates Announced for 2019 and 2020 — The next Family Weekend will take place from Oct. 18–20, 2019. Family weekend is an opportunity for students and families to get to know Drexel and one another as they share in the fun during this engaging weekend of workshops, educational activities and more.

You can also start planning ahead for Family Weekend 2020, which will take place from Nov. 6–9!

Senior Year Experience Events Starting Soon! – Take a look at the events planned for this year’s graduating seniors, ranging in size and format, but always centered on celebrating the exiting class and preparing you for the years ahead.
