Help Drexel Win RecycleMania at Thursday’s Men’s Basketball Game

When you come out to the Daskalakis Athletic Center (DAC) for the men’s basketball game this Thursday night, you won’t just be supporting our Drexel Dragons as they take on their biggest rival — the University of Delaware Blue Hens — you’ll also be helping Drexel repeat last year’s victory in the RecycleMania Game Day Challenge.

Participation is simple: Come to the game. Eat, drink, and root for the Dragons. And be sure to dispose of all your recyclables (unsoiled paper, empty bottles and cans, etc.) in the recycling bins provided throughout the DAC arena. University Facilities will tally up the weight of our recyclables and report it back to the national RecycleMania competition.

Last February, we diverted 1,300 pounds of recyclable materials from the landfill during just one men’s basketball game — that’s over a pound per attendee at the game! Those results earned Drexel the top prize among 30 other competing universities in RecycleMania’s 2017 Game Day Challenge. We want to reclaim that title once again this year.

The Drexel men’s basketball game vs. Delaware takes place this Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. For tickets to the game, visit drexeltickets.com or call the Drexel Athletics ticket office at 1.866.4.DREXEL.

Thank you for your participation in this year’s RecycleMania competition. For more details on RecycleMania, visit the Drexel Green website. And for more information about recycling at Drexel, visit drexel.edu/recycling.
