Rebecca Oslho's POV during some down time during her co-op in Turkey.
A good co-op can raise you to great heights. Often, those heights are metaphorical. But looking at the winners of the Steinbright Career Development Center’s photo contest, those heights can also be literal.
Steinbright’s annual photo contest for co-op students asks co-op students to select a picture that best represent their experiences both on the “@Work” and “@Play.”
When the panel of Drexel judges narrowed the submissions to five finalists in each category, the public vote gave the win to photographers who were high in the sky. Dan Synoski, architectural engineering ’18, came in first in the “@Work” category with a photo incorporating a dizzying perspective of the Philadelphia skyline, “Testing at the Top.” The winner of “@Play” was Rebecca Olsho, international area studies ’18, with “Up, Up, and Away!” a beautiful look at hot air balloons over Turkey.
“Waking up at 5 a.m. to catch the sunrise over Cappadocia was such a surreal experience,” Olsho. “It felt like we were the only ones in the world at the moment, with nothing but us, the sky, and these amazing rock formations slowly appearing below us. It was one of those fairy-tale moments where I truly felt like I was in a dream.”
