Prior to the ceremony, guests will be invited to sign the steel beam, which will bear flags representing the United States, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. The ceremony will observe the placement of the beam as it is hoisted by crane to its new home atop the new building. The building is scheduled for completion in fall 2013.
Drexel University President John A. Fry, Drexel University Board Chairman Richard Greenawalt and Interim LeBow College of Business Dean Frank Linnehan will offer remarks and then lead attendees in a toast.
The celebration will take place on Tuesday, August 21, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at The Quad (near the corner of 32nd and Market Streets).
