Post Survey Reporting and Data Management
Many administrative offices can benefit from the use of survey data – indeed, this is the reason for the proliferation of surveys in the first place. So, centralizing data collection as for institution-level surveys will require an efficient protocol for managing and sharing specific kinds of analyses of the survey data, as well as for managing the distribution of record-level data files, in order to ensure that the data get to the offices that need it to support their planning and operations. In addition, the gathering of survey data from student populations raises questions of how findings from these instruments are shared back with these populations.
Sharing of survey data files
Our office routinely shares trended record-level data sets (SPSS) with survey data once per quarter to members of the Survey Liaison Group. This group consists of a small, designated group of administrators that use the survey data to support planning within the colleges and departments, and adhere to a strict set of confidentiality guidelines. If you believe you have a regular business need for access to these data, and would like to join this group, please contact Esul Park (ep569@drexel.edu).
Sharing of survey analyses
Tableau
Our office utilizes the Tableau data visualization platform to visualize and distribute overall summaries of survey data, as well as summaries by college and major program.
