Jim P. Stimpson, PhD: Professor of Health Management and Policy and Senior Associate Dean for Education, Dornsife School of Public Health

Jim Stimpson is a faculty and administrator with the Dornsife School of Public Health. Jim’s mission is to discover and disseminate evidence for public policy decisions that improve population health and equity. He works to connect the next generation of public health and healthcare workers with the tools to advocate for effective public health policy change. Most of Jim’s career has been spent in public health and this experience has helped to build relationships with collaborators from multiple, diverse perspectives. These collaborations have enabled him to work on high impact projects to improve people’s lives such as Medicaid expansion, smoking prevention, and improving access to care for underserved populations. During Jim’s time as Senior Associate Dean, he increased enrollment by over 100%, led the school to reaccreditation with the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), launched new education support activities, navigated the pivot to remote instruction during the pandemic, and reorganized support for academic programs and advising to increase quality and efficiency. For his my faculty profile.
