As Vice Provost for Faculty Excellence and Academic Culture, Leslie Ashburn-Nardo, PhD, is responsible for overseeing faculty affairs and implementing the University’s strategic goals regarding academic culture and belonging. More specifically, she supports faculty development and advancement; oversees policy and procedures for the entire faculty lifecycle; and provides leadership around organizational culture, partnering with units across the University to cultivate an inclusive, welcoming academic environment in which all are empowered to thrive and succeed.
Dr. Ashburn-Nardo has a faculty appointment as Professor of Psychological and Brain Sciences. She continues to enjoy mentoring students, and in 2024 received Drexel University’s Graduate College Recognition Award for leadership and advocacy in support of faculty and professional staff advisors and graduate students, ensuring a culture of equity in academic activities and operations.

The Manager of the Faculty Lifecycle in the Office for Faculty Excellence & Academic Culture maintains and operationalizes faculty lifecycle policies and procedures, executes policy requirements, and communicates effectively with faculty and other stakeholders. The Manager of the Faculty Lifecycle coordinates with other offices across campus to manage faculty lifecycle issues, including policy development and revision, hiring, promotion and tenure, contract renewals, sabbatical, leave of absence, extensions of the pre-tenure period, and retirement.

The Executive Administrator of the Office for Faculty Excellence & Academic Culture provides effective and efficient administrative support for OFEAC. The Executive Administrator works closely with other Provost Office staff to support the academic mission of the University and serves as the initial point of contact for visitors to our office. The Executive Assistant ensures that the office functions smoothly by managing scheduling, catering, and office supply needs while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
