About the Conversation Network
The Conversation Network is a unique opportunity for language and cultural exchange. It provides a forum for Drexel students to interact with English Language Center (ELC) students as conversation partners. Conversation partners are expected to meet for about 1 hour each week during the current term. Being a conversation partner has many benefits. Native English speakers can help ELC students practice English, while the ELC students can help native English speakers learn a second language. Partners can also learn about each other’s countries and customs. You can find a partner whose interests match your own and make a new friend.
How can I Sign Up for The Conversation Network?
You may sign up for the Conversation Network using the online form.
What happens after I Sign Up for The Conversation Network?
If we find a partner for you, we will send you an email a few days before you are scheduled to meet your partner. The email will include: a meeting time, date, and location. Please check your Drexel email account daily. We will introduce you to your partner during the first meeting. After the first meeting, it will be up to you and your partner to decide the rules: when and where to meet; when to speak in one language and when to speak in the other; whether you only want to practice language or want to do other things too, like go to the movies, cook, play games, etc.
What happens if I’m not available for any of the meeting times?
If there are participants who can’t make the meeting times on the sign up form, we will provide them with a list of participants still looking for partners. The list will include the participants’ names, contact information, and preferences. Then it is up to the participants to look for potential partners and contact them by e-mail.
If you have any questions or suggestions, stop by the ELC or e-mail Andrea Johannes at firstname.lastname@example.org
