Zhanar is a graduate of the Penn Graduate School of Education, majoring in TESOL. She holds a bachelor's degree in Germanic and Italian studies from the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages and a master's degree in Intercultural Communication and European Studies from the German University of Fulda.

Currently, Zhanar teaches German and Italian remotely. In the academic year 2022-23, she taught English Advanced Level at Penn Family Center for Penn family members and offered one-on-one tutoring in Russian for undergraduate students through Penn Language Center. She will continue teaching English as an ESL adjunct at Drexel University in the summer of 2023, in addition to developing a Kazakh course for the fall of 2023 at University of Pennsylvania.

At the ELC, Zhanar teaches Grammar and Writing as well as Listening and Speaking.
