Tele-Exercise to Promote Empowered Movement in Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury (TEEMS)

Recruiting Volunteers for a Research Study

Purpose

To compare a structured online group exercise program (TEEMS) with a self-guided video library in improving physical activity, exercise beliefs, quality of life, pain, sleep and wellbeing

Participation Involves

  • Being randomly assigned to TEEMS or self-guided video library
  • TEEMS: Join live group sessions online for 8 weeks
  • Video library: Use videos independently over 8 weeks
  • All participants complete surveys, focus groups and wear an activity watch at baseline and 8 weeks
  • Final assessments at 16 weeks include surveys and wearing an activity watch

You May Qualify If You

  • Are 18-75 years old
  • Have had your SCI for over 1 year with some arm movement
  • Have internet access
  • Are not in rehab
  • Use a wheelchair or other mobility aid most of the time
  • Are cleared to exercise

Compensation

You will receive up to $200 in electronic gift cards for your time and participation.

All participation and data collection will take place on a secure web-based platform.
