Dawn Morningstar, MA, BC-DMT, NCC, LPC, is passionate about the power of movement and dance to heal. As a dance/movement therapist and educator, she focuses on the integration of clinical practice with theoretical knowledge. Morningstar encourages the growth of creative, empathetic and clinically sound dance/movement therapists and counselors. Clinically, her focus has been working with children and adolescents in residential treatment programs, schools and hospitals. Morningstar received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Temple University and a Master of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy from Drexel University. She is a licensed professional counselor in PA and a board-certified dance/movement therapist. Morningstar was instrumental in the development of the creative arts therapy program at Philadelphia Family Court. While in England on a cultural exchange, she taught an antibullying program using dance and movement in a local primary school. Morningstar has choreographed for both professional and school organizations in the Philadelphia area and dances for independent artists in and around Philly.
