BIOMED Alumni Share Advice on Careers and Employment Post-graduation

The student organization Drexel Biomedical Undergraduate Association (DBUA) hosted a hybrid alumni career panel event in the Bossone Research Center's Third Floor Atrium. The event featured seven Drexel BIOMED alumni panelists from industry employers, such as Edwards Lifesciences, MCRA, Exponent, Cardinal Health, BioNTech, Comcast, Janssen, Inc. BIOMED alumni shared their experiences and offered advice to BIOMED students, whose questions included:

How did co-op and/or research at Drexel inform your choices for choosing what job you took upon graduation?
For those who pursued master’s degrees without a thesis, did this limit you? Would you have done a thesis in retrospect?
If you have experience in hiring, what skills do you look for when doing so?
What is one piece of advice you'd offer to a senior looking to work in industry and be successful in the job search?
Outside of career fairs, how would you expand your network?
How often do companies hire part-time? I’m look for part-time work now as a student.
What changes do you expect to happen in your industry? How can we, as students, prepare for those changes?
