Engineering for US All
National Science Foundation (“NSF”) Engineering for US All - E4USA: A National Pilot High School Engineering Course
Engineering for US All (e4usa) is an NSF-funded high school engineering program that opens engineering to a new generation of students and educators. Core to the e4usa mission is the nationwide expansion of student and teacher access to engineering, with intentional efforts to reach populations traditionally underrepresented in the field.”
Our partnership with the e4USA program started in August 2021 with two local high schools, Science Leadership Academy (SLA) – Beeber Campus is West Philadelphia and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in Plymouth Meeting. Drexel Biomed is supplying subject matter expertise, programming content and support to these high schools as the roll out the e4USA 30 week engineering curriculum.
"The e4USA 30 week engineering curriculum is designed “to 'demystify' and 'democratize' engineering, and empower science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teachers to gain the self-efficacy, self-confidence and skills to teach and assess their students engineering-based competencies.” Drexel BIOMED has committed to working with these schools to provide faculty mentorship, programming content, and activity support. We view this program as a critical step on the diversity leadership pathway.
