Diabetes, Hypertension Can Increase Risk of Cardiovascular Disease

According to a recent study published in the American Journal of Cardiology, no significant decrease in the prevalence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) among European Americans and African Americans in Pennsylvania occurred from 2005 to 2009.
Drexel Students Design Innovative Mobile Autism Clinics

The A.J. Drexel Autism Institute and the Antoinette Westphal College of Media and Arts Design at Drexel University recently hosted the final presentation and awards ceremony for thirteen students participating in a design challenge to create a mobile clinic for the Autism Institute.
Autism Institute Awarded PHF Grant to Study Innovative New Instructional System

The Public Health Fund has awarded the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute a one-year, $50,000 grant to help measure the effectiveness of an innovative, web-based instructional system called Autism Navigator™ in the Pennsylvania Early Intervention system.

Drexel University has received a gift of $1.5 million from the Charles and Barbara Close Foundation, founded by Drexel alumnus Charles Close (’36), today to help establish the A.J. Drexel Autism Institute. The Institute is the nation’s first autism center focused on public health science.
