A Message from Corina Lam '10, Chair, Drexel Alumni Board of Governors

Dear Drexel Alumni,

Lam Corina

It is my distinct honor to serve as chair of the Drexel University Alumni Board of Governors for the next two years, alongside new vice chair, Bernard Greene ’99, ’14.

I want to thank our past chair, Amish Desai ’03, for his leadership of the Board during a very challenging time. The Board and the Office of Alumni Relations were able to find opportunities to work together to sustain alumni engagement through a robust program of virtual events. As a result, we exceeded our goal of engaging 35,000 alumni as donors, event attendees and volunteers during the current campaign.

In addition, a few long-time board members recently concluded their service. I would like to thank Paul Gondek ’74, David Kaganovsky ’95, Fred Kaplan ’82 and Niki Ververelli ‘07, ‘09 for their energy, effort and leadership. You all have contributed so much to your alma mater, and without question, have left your mark on our entire alumni community. I also extend a welcome and congratulations to our newest members Hiren Asudani ’94, Justin DeAngelis ’96, Shane Nelson ’16 and Aubrey Reichard-Eline ‘99. I look forward to working with you all during the next two years and beyond.

I know that many of you will agree that the events of the past year and a half have highlighted the importance of being together. My colleagues on the board and I look forward to connecting with many of you as we resume our in-person programming. We will also continue to build out our online engagement opportunities, through virtual events and the expansion of Dragon Network, which is an online community serving the professional development needs of more than 5,000 alumni and students (and counting!).

During my term, I hope to focus on a few key initiatives, including:

  1. Building Greater Community Ties across our alumni and student populations through mutual interests, use of programming, co-op, communication and workplace engagement. Through passion is where we will find and make larger connections.
  2. Continuing the Positive Changes in DE&I through new programming and relationships that ensure that the unique identities and lived experiences of our community are reflected in our engagement efforts.
  3. Sharing the Great Stories of Drexel Alumni to amplify school pride, engage prospective students who might want to learn more and celebrate the difference that members of our community make in the world.

I welcome your partnership and support as we move these efforts forward.

Sincerely,

Corina Lam Signature
