BOARD OF GOVERNORS
The Board of Governors is comprised of alumni whose demonstrated service and leadership display a strong understanding and commitment to fostering alumni engagement and to advancing Drexel University.
Responsibilities of the Board
- The Board provides representation to alumni constituent organizations in the determination of alumni policy, programs and activities.
- The Board examines issues and needs confronting alumni and the University and makes recommendations accordingly.
- The Board is responsible for proper management and action on matters of alumni engagement and those in which constituent organizations may be interested.
- The Board defines the broad alumni program and makes annual funding recommendations to the University.

Board Composition
The Board of Governors is composed of up to thirty Elected Directors, including the Vice Chairperson, Chairperson and the most recent past Chairperson, all of whom shall be elected from the general membership of the alumni community.
The Ex officio, non-voting members of the Board of Governors include Board Emeriti, the Executive Director, Board of Governors student associates (consisting of students invited to participate), and Board of Governors faculty associates (consisting of faculty invited to participate). These Ex officio members do not have voting privileges and shall not be counted in the determination of a quorum.
Board Officers
The officers of the Board are the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Immediate Past Chairperson, and the Executive Director. The Executive Director shall be appointed by the Drexel University Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement and shall serve as Executive Secretary of the Board unless otherwise appointed by the Board. All officers must be approved by the Institutional Advancement Committee of the Drexel University Board of Trustees.

Board Committees
Committee work is integral to implementing the Board's many projects and priorities. Each year Board members and alumni volunteers concentrate on issues of strategic importance to the growth and strength of the Alumni Association. There are eight standing committees, in addition to the Executive Committee, and committee members are appointed for one year terms.
