  • 2024 CSO At-Grad Survey: Why This is Important

Thanks in advance to all graduating JD students for completing the At-Grad Employment Survey on Symplicity prior to receiving your graduation tickets.

Thanks in advance to all graduating JD students for completing the At-Grad Employment Survey on Symplicity prior to receiving your graduation tickets.

The American Bar Association requires that every ABA-accredited law school supply employment data 10 months following graduation. That employment data is audited by the ABA and made publicly available (in aggregate) on the law school home page for any consumer of legal education to see. The CSO collects this information at graduation from every 3L and it is used for several important purposes:

    1. It gives us a snapshot of the percentage of students who are employed before graduation, a data point that helps everyone understand what to expect based on the historical record.
    2. The at-graduation data is the baseline for us to conduct our mandatory 10-month post-graduate employment information that is audited by the ABA and made publicly available.
    3. If you’re still seeking employment, the At Grad Employment Survey enables the CSO to offer our services to help you. This includes email list-servs with job postings, advising meetings, interview prep and more. The CSO works with graduates after graduation until you have found a job. If you don’t have a job yet, we’re here to help. Please use our services!
    4. If you have a job lined up, congratulations! Information about your job is the baseline for our 10-month employment data.
    5. We will circle back with 2024 graduates in January 2025 to substantiate your employment data. Some data can be substantiated from a law firm website or LinkedIn in which case we won’t bother you. But you may get an email, a phone call or text from someone in the CSO simply asking to confirm information. When the time comes, will you please be kind and answer us? The data collection is very important, and we want to get it right for the sake of the reputation of the law school and our ABA accreditation.
    6. All data is reported to the ABA confidentially and by anonymous number – your information will not be sold or otherwise made public.

Thank you in advance, Class of 2024, and we look forward to cheering you on at Graduation at the Kimmel Center!
