The Drexel Food Lab is an interdisciplinary research group that engages students and faculty to solve real-world problems in the areas of recipe development, product development and product ideation. Current projects are focused in the areas of sustainability, health promotion, and non-communicable disease prevention to develop affordable, sustainable and healthy food products and recipes.

The Drexel Food Lab conducts projects that aid the food industry (ranging from start-ups to multinationals), government and non-profit partners, and develops its own commercially viable products that provide sustainability for the lab in the form of technology transfer.

The Drexel Food Lab was founded in 2014 by Prof. Jonathan Deutsch and then culinary arts undergraduate Ally Zeitz. Dr. Deutsch continues to lead the food lab along with now Food Lab Manager and Drexel graduate student, Ally Zeitz.
