      The US State Department has issued a Travel Alert for Europe, highlighting the risk of terror attacks against soft targets such as tourist sites, holiday markets and train stations during the holiday season. Drexel travelers should review the alert and pay careful attention to their surroundings while in Europe, especially in crowded locations.


    • Earthquake in Costa Rica

      November 13, 2017

      Last night a 6.5 earthquake occurred along the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Tremors were felt in San Jose, but no damage was reported in the capitol. Drexel travelers in San Jose have reported in safe. Business and schools were open as usual. 


    • STORM OPHELIA IN IRELAND, UK

      October 16, 2017

      The Office of International Programs has been following carefully the path of Storm Ophelia, a major storm with heavy winds and rains that made landfall in Ireland in the morning and has continued to move across Ireland and into the UK throughout the day. Schools and businesses were closed on Monday in Ireland. Drexel travelers in the region have been advised to follow guidance from local authorities.


    • Update: Tube Explosion in London

      September 15, 2017

      The Office of International Programs is monitoring closely the news of an explosion in the London suburban Tube station of Parsons Green. Reports indicate that there are 22 injuries, but no reported deaths, and the explosion has been determined to be terror-related. Drexel has reached out to all known international travelers in London with all travelers reporting in as safe. The UK government has raised its threat warning from substantial to critical.

      The Office of International Programs is following closely news about rising tensions between the US and North Korea to assess safety and security risks for Drexel travelers in the region.


    • Update: Travel Alert for Europe

      The US Department of State has re-issued a Travel Alert for Europe following upon the expiration of the previous alert dated 05/01/2017. The alert reminds travelers of the ongoing threat of terrorist attacks throughout Europe. Drexel travelers should read the alert and register their travel in STEP.


    • Update on Incidents in London, Paris and Brussels

      June 20, 2017

      The Office of International Programs is following carefully news related to the two vehicular attacks that occurred in London at the Finsbury Park Mosque and in Paris on the Champs-Elysees as well as an incident in Brussels Central Station. Local police reaction in all three cities was swift and effective. Drexel travelers in these cities were not directly impacted by the events. However, these troubling events are a reminder to all Drexel travelers that acts of violence can occur indiscriminately and travelers should exercise caution, register in STEP and follow advice of host institutions and local partners.


    • Update on London Incidents

      June 04, 2017

      Yesterday's events in London involving a van hitting pedestrians on the London Bridge and the stabbing of several people in Borough Market have been identified as a terrorist attack. Seven people were killed and over 50 people were injured. The well being of all known Drexel travelers in London has been confirmed and travelers have been reminded of resources available and safety and security precautions.
