New Dragons Faculty Learning Community

If you started as a full-time faculty member at Drexel University within the last three years, we invite you to join New Dragons Faculty Learning Community (FLC). FLCs have been shown to increase belonging and ease transitions into faculty life or entry into a new institution, as well as provide increased support for faculty research and teaching excellence. Monthly meetings are designed to help you network with colleagues and mentors at Drexel, gain confidence in balancing teaching, service, and research workloads, and increase your understanding of Drexel’s mission to prepare graduates of diverse backgrounds to become purpose-driven professionals and agents for positive change.

Benefits of participation:

  • Receive individualized feedback
  • Build a network of peers across campus
  • Learn more about what Drexel has to offer faculty, staff and students
  • Meet academic and extra-curricular leaders across Drexel University
  • Earn a certificate of completion

Participants commit to:

  • Attend monthly meetings and discussions (3 in fall; 3 in winter; 3 in spring).
  • Set and attain one concrete professional goal (such as a grant application, pedagogy trainings, or another teaching or research-related goal).
  • Support fellow faculty by engaging with discussion topics and resources and listening deeply during shared conversations.

Cohort Meeting Options:

*New Dragons Faculty Learning Community is moving to a biennial program. Check back in August 2024 for details about joining our next cohort!*
