Overview

The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) works to inspire and promote excellence in teaching throughout Drexel’s diverse learning environments. As a university that values and celebrates experiential learning, Drexel knows that intentionally linking real-life experiences with highly effective learning environments is the key to stewarding today’s students into tomorrow’s community leaders. By investing in the University’s cohort of educators, we can ensure that every single student receives the most valuable, rigorous, experiential, technology-infused education possible.

Driving Innovation in Teaching

From its inception in the Fall of 2019, TLC has mobilized Drexel leaders and stakeholders to provide resources, information, training, and support to more than 1000 instructors at Drexel University, across almost every one of the university’s schools and colleges. With numerous vital roles within the Drexel University ecosystem, the TLC helps to:

  • Ensure positive student learning outcomes through evidence-based teaching
  • Support the specialized needs of new and part-time faculty hires
  • Implement teaching practices that accrediting bodies require
  • Increase the profile of teaching at Drexel through research and scholarship
  • Improve interdisciplinary communication and collaboration
  • Assist instructors in designing holistic learning experiences that integrate experiential learning
