New Faces and Spaces at the TLC!
February 1, 2023
The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) recently welcomed two new members to the team, Meredith Casino, Manager of Operations, and Magdalena Mączyńska, Associate Director.
Meredith began her career at Drexel in 2017 as a program coordinator for the Center for Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning Excellence (CASTLE), and most recently served as Operations Manager for the English Language Center. Meredith earned her B.S. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and M.S. in Higher Education Counseling and Student Affairs from West Chester University. In her new role, Meredith is responsible for administrative, financial, personnel, and organizational functions within the Teaching and Learning Center.
Magdalena Mączyńska is an award-winning academic teacher, with over twenty years of experience in the classroom. She has worked with students at a range of educational institutions, from a large research university to a small liberal arts college to a maximum-security prison. She has helped colleagues develop their teaching craft as faculty peer mentor, writing program director, department chair, and teaching excellence and innovation center director. Magdalena earned a M.A. In English Language and Literature from Wroclaw University in Poland and a Ph.D. in English Literature from Catholic University of America. As Associate Director of the TLC, Magdalena is responsible for facilitating workshops, providing faculty consultations, and supporting TLC’s cohort programs.
To accommodate TLC’s recent growth, our staff has moved into offices at 3401 Market Street in suite 110. We will continue to hold workshops and training in the TLC Learning Lab and utilize the office space in Hagerty Library as the TLC Lending Library. We invite you to visit us in our new space Mondays through Thursdays!
