Today, we have the privilege of announcing a generous gift from Jeff Westphal in honor of his father, Ray Westphal ’59, HD ’02, which will help to advance critical areas of the Strategic Plan. His gift will help to establish the Innovation Engine, an initiative that will support the integration of experiential learning, curricular innovation, research and interdisciplinary solutions across Drexel. The Engine will be led by the Office of the Provost in collaboration with the Drexel Solutions Institute and will be co-designed with the Drexel community.

As we prepare to observe Memorial Day, we remember, memorialize and honor those who lost their lives while serving our country. It is a time to reflect on and express our gratitude to our active military, our veterans and their families. Since this weekend also signals the unofficial start to summer, in appreciation of our faculty and professional staff's work and dedication to Drexel, offices can close Friday, May 27, at 2 p.m. to give employees extra time with their families. Your contributions and commitment keep our University strong and united in common purpose.

As a means of supporting the ongoing development of our research, scholarship, and creative activities, as well as recognizing excellence in teaching, and professional service, the Office of Research & Innovation and the Office of Faculty Advancement and Undergraduate Affairs are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2021-22 Research, Scholarship and Creativity Awards and the 2021-22 Provost Awards for Teaching, Scholarship and Professional Service.
