This fall marked two years in my role as Provost. To advance the Plan imperatives and address the growing economic challenges in higher education, my office has defined strategic priorities that will guide our focus and resource allocation over the coming year and beyond.
We are proud to share the exciting news that Drexel University has again achieved national recognition in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, retaining its designation as an “R1 Doctoral University: Very High Research Activity.” Drexel is one of 146 institutions out of approximately 3,900 to receive this prestigious classification, indicating the highest level of research activity. Notably, we are one of only 39 private universities to earn the distinction.
As previously noted, to help protect our community against current and future surges, Drexel is requiring all faculty, professional staff and students on campus who are eligible for a COVID-19 booster shot to receive one and upload their documentation to the Drexel Health Checker, unless they have received a University-approved medical or religious exemption. The deadline to provide booster documentation is February 28.
