The Final Faceoff: Update on Democratic Candidates Seeking Gubernatorial Nomination Debate at Drexel

The Democratic City Committee and Drexel University will host the final debate among the democratic gubernatorial candidates vying for the chance to challenge incumbent Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett in the November election.

The hour-long debate will be held on Monday, May 12 at 7 p.m. in Drexel University’s Mandell Theater on Chestnut Street between 32nd and 33rd Streets. Journalist, news anchor and author Larry Kane will serve as moderator and produce the debate. He will be joined by two panelists: Daily News columnist John Baer and American Cities Foundation president Sandra Dungee Glenn. The four candidates are: Rob McCord, Katie McGinty, Allyson Schwartz and Tom Wolf.

An independent production, the debate will be available via satellite to all TV stations in Pennsylvania. Total Production Services will handle the production and engineering. More than 32 television and radio stations across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will carry the debate. Of these, 12 TV stations and 10 radio stations will air the debate live. The debate will also be webcast live on Drexel's website.

Reporters, TV crews and photographers:

Photographers will have one an opportunity to take photos for 10 minutes before doors close for the live debate. A Drexel, Reuters and an AP photographer will remain in the theater throughout the debate. Reporters and photographers should arrive by 6:15 p.m. Only reporters who have previously sent in a request for a seat will remain in the theater once the doors are closed. All allocated seats for media have been reserved. An additional lounge broadcasting the debate live on a TV screen will be available to reporters who won’t be seated in the theater. The lounge is adjacent to Mandell Theater’s lobby. Post-debate interviews can take place in the Mandell Theater lobby.
