Summertime in the city! When you’re with your student this month, take advantage of the history and outdoor offerings of Philadelphia.
- It’s still America’s birth month, so why not visit the Liberty Bell and cross that off a Philly bucket list for you and your student?
- While you’re in the area, sit down on an Once Upon a Nation Storytelling Bench and learn more while taking a break.
- And to complete an Old City to-do item, visit the President’s House site where Presidents George Washington and John Adams lived and worked.
- Take a look at Philadelphia’s history with a walk down Elfreth’s Alley.
- Visit a not-so-typical museum and learn about a hopefully-not-so-typical event with Fireman’s Hall, which embodies the history of firefighting.
- Where did mystery and macabre live in Philly? The Edgar Allen Poe National Historic Site, which is where the famed American author briefly lived in the 19th
- Immerse yourself in the Science History Institute’s indoor and outdoor exhibitions on water.
- Another way to soak in some history and culture can be through the underrated Fairmount Water Works!
- How do you feel about visiting an immersive installation on felt? It’s on hand at the Taller Puertorriqueño.
- Take in the sights, sounds and ambiance of Bartram’s Garden.
