Things to do in Philly – May 2022
May 12, 2022
It’s a beautiful time to be in Philadelphia — the flowers have bloomed, the sun is out more and the temperatures are rising but not too, too hot. If you’re visiting your student this month, take advantage of Philly’s walkability while possibly attending one or some of these cultural events:
- Visit the largest Puerto Rican/Latin@-based arts and cultural facility in Pennsylvania: El Corazon Cultural Center. Antonio Martorell: A/RESTOS is on exhibition through September and its El Fashion Show: Cultivating Children’s Creativity is on May 20.
- It’s classic for a reason: Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. Beautiful site to explore outside!
- Volunteer Paint Day with # Walls For Justice on May 29 at Cherry St. Pier Studio 8.
- will paint a mural for a local school.
- The Esperanza Arts Center — the center for Philly Latino arts and culture — is hosting its iConexiones! concert May 21 and a BalletX performance May 26.
- Indigo Arts Gallery always has the best international folk and contemporary art in the city — open to visitors by appointment only.
- The Rothman Orthopaedics Roller Rink is now open at Dilworth Plaza for some outdoor public roller skating.
