Did You Know About These Campus Groups?
September 10, 2018
Drexel University has a variety of student groups to satisfy nearly any interest. And with the new academic year approaching, what better time to learn about — and possibly join — a group to meet new people and explore a new passion?
Below are some examples of student groups you might not even know existed:
- For Gamers. Check out the Anime and Gaming Organization, which aims to promote anime through screenings and discussions, as well as bring together game enthusiasts through events. Looking for something more specific? Drexel also boasts its own Magic the Gathering Club for players of all levels. Game on!
- For Artists. Look out for upcoming Depict events, bringing together a community of students who want to create and learn about art by collaborating, bonding and helping each other improve. You could also stop by a meeting of the Drexel Calligraphy Club, which meets on Fridays in URBN 432.
- For Athletes. Try your hand at a new sport! Drexel boasts a number of organized sports and athletic clubs outside of the normal realm, including marathon running group Dragons Run, the Drexel Cricket Club, the Drexel University Equestrian Team and the Drexel University Roller Hockey Club.
- For Bleeding Hearts. If working toward a greater good is more your speed, get in touch with groups like the Drexel Hunger & Homelessness Prevention Coalition, which works with volunteer sites throughout the Greater Philadelphia area dedicated to ending hunger. For animal lovers, there’s also Drexel Veg, a community for vegetarians, vegans or anyone interested in helping animals and staying healthy!
