Research led by Afsaneh Razi, PhD, an assistant professor in the College of Engineering and Computing, showing that teens are experiencing feelings similar to addiction when using AI chatbots, was mentioned in June 1 Agence France-Presse and FOX Business News stories about Florida’s lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman claiming the company knows its chatbots are unsafe and ignored potential harms to users. Razi's research was cited in the suit.
