Trump Baselessly Accuses Harris of Faking Crowd Size With AI
August 12, 2024
Matthew Stamm, PhD, an associate professor in the College of Engineering, was quoted in an Aug. 12 Agence France-Presse story that investigated claims by former President Donald Trump that photos from a recent Kamala Harris campaign rally were edited using generative AI to make the crowd look larger than it actually was. Stamm’s digital forensic analysis proved that the image had not been edited. The story was republished via AFP wire service in a number of outlets worldwide, including Yahoo! News.
