Researchers Blast ‘Forever Chemicals’ Into Oblivion With Plasma

Research by Christopher Sales, PhD, an associate professor in the College of Engineering, and Alexander Fridman, PhD, director of the C. & J. Nyheim Plasma Institute and Nyheim Chair professor in the College of Engineering, was featured in a Feb. 24 Grist story about the widespread contamination of drinking water by the chemical PFAS, which was used in non-stick pans, waterproofing and fire-fighting foam. Sales was quoted in the story.
