Research by Edward Kim, PhD, an associate professor in the College of Computing & Informatics, was mentioned in an Aug. 4 Fortune post about new discoveries in artificial intelligence. Kim’s recently published work looks at spiking neural networks, deep-learning systems that are intended to mimic behavior of the human brain, including what it does during sleep.
