California vs. NCAA: New Law Lets College Athletes Make Money off Names, Images

A 2012 study by Ellen Staurowsky, EdD, a professor in the Sport Management program of the LeBow College of Business, was mentioned in an Sept. 30 San Francisco Chronicle story about California Governor Gavin Newsom signing the bill known as the “Fair Pay to Play” Act into law, which ensures athletes at California’s 15 state universities are allowed to make money from the use of their name, image and likeness.
